Jinja Cricket Academy U15 T10 Emerging Stars Tournament Kicks Off

The Jinja Cricket Academy recently brought youthful energy and competitive spirit to the Kivubuka Primary School ground as it hosted the U15 T10 Emerging Stars tournament on December 5, 2025. This lively event gathered six teams—Lions, Cheetahs, Tigers, Buffalos, Rhinos, and Leopards—for a full day of fast-paced cricket. Among them, the Cheetahs and Leopards proudly represented the girls’ division, adding balance and inclusivity to the tournament lineup.

Created to offer young cricketers meaningful exposure and a stage to demonstrate their growing abilities, the tournament delivered both excitement and valuable learning moments. Matches were closely contested, showcasing promising batting, bowling, and fielding from players who are still early in their sporting journeys. In the girls’ category, the Cheetahs displayed confidence and discipline to claim the top spot, while the Lions impressed throughout the boys’ competition and ultimately secured the overall victory.

A total of 71 children participated, supported by 10 enthusiastic parents who cheered from the sidelines throughout the day. Their presence added warmth and encouragement, helping boost the players’ confidence as they competed. The atmosphere was vibrant, with proud families, spirited teammates, and dedicated coaches all contributing to a memorable community event.

The success of the tournament reflects the Jinja Cricket Academy’s broader mission: to strengthen grassroots cricket in Uganda, foster talent from an early age, and prepare gifted youngsters for future national duties. By organizing events like this, the academy continues to build pathways for emerging athletes, instill sportsmanship, and raise the overall standard of youth cricket.

With such initiatives steadily taking root, the future of Ugandan cricket is full of promise. These young players—energized by experience, mentorship, and opportunity—are poised to become the next generation of stars, and their performances hint at even greater achievements in the years ahead.
